Questions
Good to know before you begin.
The iPhone app is currently available in German only. iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch are in testing.
Do I need to subscribe to a newsletter?
No. Read and confirm the two download notices to unlock the current Mac download. There is no email form here. The account required by the current Mac beta is separate.
Is the iPhone app available in English?
Not yet. The iPhone app is currently available in German only and is in testing. The website language does not change the language of the app.
Which version will I download?
The version designated in the published RedCat update file, not simply the newest file by date in a folder. If that file cannot be read or its download address is invalid, the button stays locked.
Is my stream public?
No. Strom is a posts view of your own collection. You decide what to share. Online AI functions and your own cloud storage have separate data-processing implications.
Does everything work offline?
No blanket promise: local work needs no generative AI, but the current Mac beta requires an account at startup. Apple speech recognition, syncing, external videos and AI functions have their own network requirements.
Can I search by describing a topic?
Yes, with question search. It uses online AI and processes your question and, for missing indexes, note text. Ordinary text search is separate and local.
Can I dictate into the middle of a text?
Yes. Place the cursor in the desired position and start speaking in that text section. Without a set cursor position the new text is appended. Check the transition afterwards.
Can I work on several projects?
Yes. Storys holds content, Work organises assignments and dates, and Content Creator supports longer writing and film projects. A private diary and a production can coexist.
Does RedCat Check guarantee that a statement is true?
No. It provides source-based research assistance, not certainty. Read original sources and their context; recheck if the text changes.
Can I export an unfinished draft?
Yes. Preview a PDF and share a working version. Current PDF designs include Business, Klassisch, Magazin and Tagebuch. More custom designs are not promised yet.
Will downloading start a paid subscription?
No. The beta download is free. Optional AI and research services can consume credits or cost money; check the current display before using them.
Where can I get help?
Email mail@redcatbrain.com with your device, system and app version, plus the steps that led to a problem. Remove personal information from screenshots.
